USASA National Ranking and Selection
Regional Series Champion:
The Regional Series Champion of each age class, male & female, in each discipline will be determined using Regional Rankings (best of 2 of 3 for RJ & HP, GS & SL, SBX / SX and SS) will be qualified for the National Championship. If the winner cannot go to National Championship the next rider in line may take that spot. Therefore, one representative from each age group, male & female, shall be given a slot to Nationals providing they have qualified as stated in the rules. In order to participate in Exhibition Banked Slalom (BS) and the National Championship, you must participate in a banked slalom event.
Tie Breaking Procedures:
Ties are broken using the best result or total points.
Points:
The points system used by each Series will be the same throughout all series. All series must provide results in each discipline for which they have riders, male and female. Therefore each series will provide results in GS, Slalom, SBX / SX, Halfpipe, and Slopestyle, for men and women, in each age category.
Gold Medallists:
The gold medallists from the previous National Championship will be qualified to the current National Championship as per rule 103 The competitor requesting this slot must have qualified as stated in the rules.
Remaining Slots - NATIONAL RANKINGS:
All remaining openings in all age categories and venues will be filled from the National Ranking. See Rule 104 To clarify, after the above positions have been filled the next riders to be invited to the Nationals will be the highest ranking riders on the ranking list. Example: each series has qualified their winners but 20 more slots are available in that age group. Then the remaining 20 will be taken from the National Ranking list.
103.06 National Ranking
The National Ranking will be the riders’ best 3 results in the last 12 months, the Nationals may or may not be included. Qualifying points will be awarded in each discipline, each age category, male and female.
National Points Attribution:
Points will be awarded at all events but a rider will retain only the top 3, three, finishes during a 12, twelve, month period. This includes Nationals. i.e. if a rider has more than 3 finishes, her top three finishes will automatically be taken which may or may not include her nationals finish.
The Nationals ranking will be published each week and is available at: http://www.usasa.org
Any available slots at USASA nationals not filled by Regional series winners, USASA National Team Members, Pre-Qualified riders from previous Nationals or additional Qualifying Events, (see rule 103.09) will be filled via the USASA National Ranking System.
